  • The Sadye Dunn Doxie Undergraduate Interdisciplinary Research Award

    Sadye Dunn Doxie graduated from the Woman’s College in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education. She served as Director of Admissions and Dean of Students prior to moving to Washington DC.

    This award supports undergraduate interdisciplinary research conducted by highly motivated students in any department of the School of Health and Human Sciences.


  • The Marjory W. Johnson Pre-Physical Therapy Research Program Fund

    This award supports research by an undergraduate student who plans to attend physical therapy school. Research should focus on projects that advance the body of knowledge concerning the prevention, evaluation and treatment of movement related injury and disease across the lifespan.

    Undergraduate students from Community and Therapeutic Recreation, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Kinesiology or Public Health Education are eligible.


  • The Theodore & Loretta Williams Research Fund for Arts Health

    This fund was established in 2005 by Charles R. and Kathleen Williams to honor their parents, Theodore and Loretta Williams. Theodore Williams was a career musician and a member of the Army Field Band and the Marine Band. Loretta Williams worked in the home, raising four children, encouraging and fostering their love of learning. Kathleen Williams has been a faculty member in the Department of Kinesiology at UNCG since 1988.

    This fund supports a graduate student from any department in the School of Health and Human Sciences who plans to conduct a research project focusing on some aspect of arts health.
