Join the Peace and Conflict Studies Department for a Colloquial series discussion of the October 2020 release of Realizing Nonviolent Resilience: Neoliberalism, Societal Trauma, and Marginalized Voice (New York: Peter Lang,2020), edited by UNCG Professor, Jeremy A. Rinker and clinical psychologist,Jerry T. Lawler.
A panel of the book’s authors will discuss how their works in contexts of marginalization integrate with neoliberal norms to establish’ treatments’ for collective historical traumas.
How do the practices of peace building intersect with past mass marginalization and collective trauma?
How do we as peace practitioners work with communities to develop trauma-informed interventions, and how is this work inflected by prevalent neoliberal ideologies?
We hope you will zoom-in for this exciting discussion and bring your questions.
