Maria Perdomo, Peace and Conflict Studies

Pacesetter: Ms. Maria Perdomo, M.A.

María Perdomo Ardila is a 2018 graduate with a dual master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies and Politics and Public Administration, with a focus on International Human Rights Advocacy and Post Conflict Peacebuilding. She is a passionate advocate for social justice and addressing issues of identity, race, gender, and privilege. Ms. Perdomo recently served as the Assistant Program Director at North Carolina for Community and Justice (NCCJ) in Greensboro, where she led youth and community programs. 

Now, Ms. Perdomo is channeling her experiences into her writing. She’s crafting memoirs and essays that explore her immigrant experience, reflections on identity, and the poignant journey back to her homeland of Colombia. Her work weaves together themes both in English and Spanish of life, death, and belonging, offering insightful perspectives grounded in the diverse and impactful experiences in her life.
