Dr. Jinni Su, Human Development and Family Studies

Pacesetter: Dr. Jinni Su, Ph.D. 

Dr. Jinni Su received her bachelor’s degree in Economics at Beijing Normal University in China, and her master’s and doctoral degrees in Human Development and Family Studies at UNCG.  

In expanding her doctoral training, Dr. Su completed a post-doctoral fellowship in psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University, researching the area of Environment, Development and Genetics (EDGE). Dr. Su has an extensive research portfolio addressing issues of race and ethnicity in genetic research around substance abuse using a cultural genomics approach, with a particular interest in increasing representation of racial/ethnic minority populations in genetic research. Dr. Su has received multiple funded awards in support of her research and was recently awarded a $1.65M grant from the National Institute of Health. An assistant professor in psychology at Arizona State University since 2019, she has published 51 manuscripts and spoken widely.
