HHS Communications

What we do

The HHS Communications team serves as the central source for news and marketing for the School of Health and Human Sciences. In addition, we build the HHS brand, share timely updates, and support recruitment efforts. Through a mix of press releases, e-marketing, social media, advertising, web content, and event promotion, we engage the university community and beyond. As a result, our work strengthens connections, increases visibility, and promotes the achievements of our faculty, staff, and students.

Web Design and Support

We provide comprehensive web support across the School of Health and Human Sciences, managing content and optimizing websites while ensuring the technical upkeep of WordPress. We work to improve usability and SEO, and we collaborate with ITS and other university web managers to stay current with the latest developments. We offer training and advice, maintain consistency across units, and focus on the long-term sustainability of our sites. We maintain university standards, and strengthen the web presence of all departments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support for web content and best practices across all departments
  • Maintain and update content, news, and featured stories
  • Manage the image library and take photos as needed
  • Keep HHS faculty and staff information current in the UNCG Faculty and Staff directory
  • Train departmental admins as needed
  • Ensure consistency in design, style, and messaging across departments
  • Improve accessibility, SEO, and mobile presentation
  • Monitor sites for broken links, outdated content, and other errors
  • Update WordPress plugins and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Coordinate with ITS, submit feature requests, and track Next Gen SharePoint updates to stay current with latest developments
  • Work to ensure long-term maintainability and sustainability of our sites
  • Uphold University brand guidelines and best practices
