Established by husband George C. Smith and son John Randolph Smith to honor Rebecca McCulloch Smith for her 33 years of loyal and dedicated service to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She joined the faculty in 1958 as an instructor, earned her Ph.D. in 1967 and retired as a Professor.
