Marge Burns Graduate Fellowship

Marjorie Burns graduated from Woman’s College in 1946 with a degree in physical education. She spent her career playing and teaching golf, and was named Carolina’s Amateur Athlete of the Year five times. She received the School of HHP Distinguished Alumni Award in 1991 and was a charter inductee of the UNCG Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000.

This fund supports incoming graduate students in one of the following departments:  Graduate, Community and Therapeutic Recreation, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Kinesiology, or Public Health Education.

This award is renewable for 2 (master’s) or 3 years (doctoral) of study.
