The George and Beatrice Goldman Fisher Gerontology Doctoral Dissertation Award

Beatrice Goldman Fisher was a member of the Class of 1942 of Woman’s College. This award was established by the Fishers to be awarded to a doctoral student in any field of study at UNCG provided that his or her research relates to Gerontology and the improvement of the quality of life of the elderly. The Graduate School announces a ‘call’ for nominations of outstanding doctoral dissertations in the field of gerontology each year. Awardees are selected from among the dissertations nominated.

This award supports a nominated doctoral student with outstanding doctoral dissertations in the field of Gerontology at UNCG.
