Dr. Mat Despard published a paper titled “Household spending patterns and hardships during COVID-19: A comparative study of the U.S. and Israel” in the Journal of Family and Economic Issues. In this study, Dr. Despard and his co-authors found that Black households in the US and Arab households in Israel had greater financial hardship while employment predicted hardship in the US but not Israel.
