The Speech and Hearing Center offers therapeutic summer programs to children with speech, language, and hearing disorders each year.  These camps may target different populations and/or age ranges.

The Listening Lab

The “Listening Lab” is a unique and innovative summer program for children 7 – 12 years old who have been diagnosed with auditory processing disorder (APD).  Summer is a great time to “jump start” your child’s journey toward better listening!Listening Lab Camp whispers into student clinician's ear.

  • Date and time: Monday – Friday, June 19 to June 30, 2023, from 1:00 pm5:00 pm
  • Target participants: Children 7 – 12 years old who have been diagnosed with auditory processing disorder (APD)

Camp SpeakaLot

Pinkey Lake logoIf you have a child who stutters, Camp SpeakaLot might be a good fit.  This FREE camp is currently recruiting participants between the ages of 7 and 13 years.  Camp SpeakaLot is actually a research study investigating Acceptance and Commitment Group Therapy for Children who Stutter.  It will be held at Piney Lake in Greensboro June 19 – June 30, 2023 from 1 – 4 pm.  To learn more about Camp SpeakaLot, check out this Camp Flyer (PDF) or contact Kelly Harrington, M.A., CCC-SLP at ktharrin@uncg.edu.
