Brief Bio

Rebecca McGuire earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa in Sociology, a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Central Michigan, and a Ph.D. in Conflict Resolution from Nova Southeastern University in Florida in 2010.

Rebecca has over 29 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and fundraising. Currently, she is the Human Services Administrator for Broward County, Florida’s Homeless Initiative Partnership. Since obtaining her doctorate, she has conducted leadership workshops for both nonprofit and for-profit organizations, assisted in drafting policies and procedures around organizational culture, and provided strategies to build leadership capacity and management strategies. In 2012, she became a certified training in the Bridges out of Poverty concept and has presented and trained over 15 organizations.

Besides teaching at UNCG in the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies, Rebecca offers courses at her alma mater, Nova Southeastern University, and other universities.
