The Nutrition Department hosted School Nutrition Association workshops on June 24 and 25, 2015. Each year, UNCG is a participant in the Annual Meeting for the NC School Nutrition Association. As a part of the week long meeting with educational sessions, and an equipment/product exposition, 50-75 NC-SNA members come over to the campus for a hands on workshop for skill development. In the past, workshop topics have been pasta making, canning, jelly production, cheese making, etc. This year the workshop focused on production of a whole wheat yeast roll from scratch! After the workshops, the yeast rolls were donated to the Greensboro Urban Ministry by Food Recovery Network here at UNCG.
