Each year, UNCG participants in the Annual Meeting for the NC School Nutrition Association (SNA).
The week-long meeting includes educational sessions and an equipment and product exposition. SNA members come to our campus for hands-on skill development workshops.
Examples of past workshops

- Knife skills, including sharpening and multiple cutting methods
- Basic kitchen skills such as measuring, tare weights, and the impact of acid/alkaline mediums on vegetable texture and color
- A “chopped” challenge, where participants work with a limited group of food supplies to create a healthy meal
- Production of a whole wheat yeast roll from scratch
