Our Programs

Undergraduate students select from concentrations that prepare them for:
  • Working in agencies and settings serving children, adolescents, older adults, and families
  • Achieving graduate degrees in fields such as HDFS, counseling, social work, psychology, education, child life, and more
  • Pursuing certification as Family Life Educators.
  • Teaching young children from birth through kindergarten in a variety of settings including North Carolina public school

Graduate students examine the biological, relational, early educational, social, and cultural foundations of development and their implications for families.  A defining focus of our program is an emphasis on the application of strength-based approaches to the study of diverse children and families.
