Our Programs

Undergraduate students select from concentrations that prepare them for careers in agencies and settings serving children, adolescents, older adults, and families and those that prepare them to teach young children from birth through kindergarten in both private and North Carolina public school settings.

Graduate students examine the biological, relational, early educational, social, and cultural foundations of development and their implications for families.  A defining focus of our program is an emphasis on the application of strength-based approaches to the study of diverse children and families.

The department is committed to core values of equity, integrity, community, and intentionality.
