Hello everyone!  My name is Maddy Jones and I am from Ithaca, NY.  I graduated from Ithaca College in 2022 with a major in Health Sciences with a Planned Clinical Emphasis in Genetics and minors in Biology and Counseling.  During my undergraduate studies I participated in research surrounding antimicrobial gene transference in the microbiota of monkeys.  I was also involved with our genetics club, pediatric cancer research fundraising, and Orientation programming and development. Throughout college I worked as a Community Support Professional, helping adolescents with Down syndrome gain social confidence, and as an Activity Leader at a local nursing home.  I found out about the field of Genetic Counseling as a sophomore in college and am so excited to finally be studying it in graduate school at UNCG! 

Outside of school, you can usually find me reading a cheesy book full of cliches, walking on one of the many amazing trails in the area, or contemplating which grocery store is truly the best.  I would love to connect with prospective students and answer any questions you may have, please feel free to reach out.
