Brief Bio
Emilia Cytron is from St. Louis, MO and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Biology in 2021.
While an undergraduate student, Emilia was involved in research using the model organism Drosophila melanogaster to study the role of ion exchangers in neurodgeneration. Additionally, she served as an ambassador for the Women and Gender Resource Center to advocate for interpersonal violence victims and furthering education on this topic. Furthermore, Emilia served as President and Treasurer for Alabama Student Genetics Organization to educate her campus community about genetics. Through her sorority’s D.E.I. committee, Emilia worked to create action items and raise awareness of systemic injustices.
Emilia can be found exploring local coffee shops, experimenting with new foods, catching up with friends and family, or taking nature walks. She is willing to answer any questions about applying to graduate school or life in Greensboro.
