Overview
Directed practical experience in approved recreation and parks agency is an integral part of our Undergraduate and Graduate degree programs.
- Undergraduate students in both the Therapeutic Recreation (TR) and the Community Recreation and Event Planning (CREP) concentrations must take
- CTR 315 “Practicum in Recreation and Parks Management” and
- CTR 417 “Internship in Recreation and Parks “
- Graduate students in the Master of Science Degree in Parks and Recreation Management must take CTR 697, “Internship in Parks and Recreation”

The CTR Fieldwork database is a useful tool for finding a placement within the community.
Liability Insurance
Students enrolled in practicum or internship will be covered under the University’s liability insurance policy. The premium of $15 is collected along with the regular UNCG tuition. There is no paperwork that needs to be submitted to the CTR Dept. If the agency requires a copy of the policy, contact us at ctr@uncg.edu.
