School of Health and Human Sciences

 Applying for scholarships is done through the School of Health and Human Sciences (HHS).

Completed applications for the 2021-22 year are due in March 2021!

Each year, excellent students, majoring in a department of HHS are awarded nearly $300,000 in scholarships and awards. A list of awards are found under the tabs for the specific department as well as the tab for scholarships available to students from any department with the School. Qualifications are listed along with a description of the scholarship.

Graduate and Undergraduate Student Scholarships

The Quota Club
The Quota Club Scholarship was established in 2007 with a gift from members of The Quota Club for the purpose of rewarding character, service and academic excellence in two students majoring in Communication Science and Disorders. Quota Club members are known especially for their service to deaf, hard-of-hearing, and speech-impaired individuals and disadvantaged women and children.

Graduate Student Scholarships

The Cheshire Center Award Fund for Communication Sciences and Disorders
Margie Motsinger is a 1980 graduate of UNCG with a M.Ed. in speech pathology. She started The Cheshire Center Speech and Voice Center that year as a one-person practice; by 2006 it had grown to include some 90 employees working in a nine-county area.
Eligible: Master’s degree students in CSD are eligible for this award.
